The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is a twin island country situated off the northern edge of South America mainland.

(1) BUSINESS/VACATION/VISIT VISA - Student Permit
ALL APPLICANTS ARE EXPECTED TO SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATIONS IN PERSON AT THE EMBASSY along with the following

• Two (2) completed visa application forms (duly signed by the Applicant)
• Two (2) recent coloured passport size photographs (full face, no dark glasses)
• Passport valid for at least six months for the duration of intended stay in Trinidad and Tobago
• Non-refundable visa fee of Naira Four Thousand (N4,000.00)
• Current Financial Statement for the last three months before the date of application
• Payment of refundable SECURITY BOND DEPOSIT in the sum of Naira Five Hundred and Sixty Thousand (N560,000.00 per applicant).

This is refundable after the visitor departs Trinidad and Tobago and returns to Nigeria.

Refund is processed within one week of the request. Only the applicant can request and collect a refund.

Please be informed that the Mission will give the applicant a letter of authorization to make the deposit of the SECURITY BOND at Diamond Bank. The deposit slip is to be returned to the Mission in exchange for the Mission’s receipt. The original document is required if payment of Security Bond Deposit was made in Trinidad and Tobago. Photocopy will not be accepted.

The Mission accepts Diamond Bank Drafts payable to ‘Trinidad and Tobago High Commission.

• Formal letter of invitation from person to be visited in Trinidad and Tobago or a confirmed hotel reservation. Formal letter of invitation must include document showing the person’s immigration status in Trinidad and Tobago, if the person is not a national of Trinidad and Tobago. 

Invitation letter should also clearly state the name, address and contact details of person inviting applicant. Informal e-mail invitations will not be accepted.

• Travel/Flight Itinerary
• The original medical qualifications and registration certificate with Medical and Dental Board of Nigeria are required for Medical Practitioners visiting Trinidad and Tobago. Certified copies are accepted
• Introduction Letter from applicant’s employer valid - three (3) months before the date of application;
• Monthly Pay-slip valid 3 months before the date of application
• Proof of business, i.e. registration document from the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria

• IF TRAVELLING ON BUSINESS, a letter from the applicant’s company detailing the purpose of visit, duration of stay and contact details of Company/Organization in Trinidad and Tobago is required.

Kindly note that travelling salesmen with no established agents in Trinidad and Tobago require a license if they are entering for the purpose of receiving or soliciting orders. Two (2) copies of all the required documents must be submitted with the originals.

Forms MUST BE printed on both sides of the page. Please note that applications should be submitted at least six (6) weeks prior to the date of intended departure.

(2) FOR STUDY / STUDENTS VISA:

ALL APPLICANTS ARE EXPECTED TO SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATIONS IN PERSON TO THE EMBASSY along with the following - 

• Two (2) completed visa application forms (duly signed by the Applicant)

• Current Financial Statement from parent/sponsor(s) for the last three months before the date of application
• Original copy of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Senior School Certificate, GCE certificate, University degree or whichever is applicable
• A letter from the Ministry of Education of Nigeria stating that the degree to be pursued is not available in Nigeria. This is ONLY applicable to students who wish to study at the University of Southern Trinidad
• Letter of Acceptance from educational institution in Trinidad and Tobago
• Evidence of payment of Tuition Fees
• Payment of refundable SECURITY BOND DEPOSIT in the sum of Naira Five Hundred and Sixty Thousand (N560,000.00 per applicant).

Additional things you need to know 
Citizens and Residents of Trinidad and Tobago do not require visas for entry into Trinidad and Tobago.
 
Citizens of the following countries do not require visas for entry to Trinidad and Tobago:
 
CARICOM: except Haiti (Holders of Diplomatic, Official or Service Passports from Haiti do not require visas).
 
EUROPEAN UNION: A visa for Business/Vacation purposes for visits of up to ninety (90) days within a 180 day period, is not required for European Union countries. (See below for a list of the Member States of the European Union).

Extension of Stay:
A permitted entrant to Trinidad and Tobago who requires an Extension of Stay to remain in the country shall appear before the Immigration Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago.

An application for an Extension of Stay is made to the Chief Immigration Officer on the prescribed form and is subject to his approval.

Requirements: 
Completed Application Form
Valid Reason/Purpose for Extension of Stay
Valid Return Ticket or Security Deposit
Proof of Sufficient funds for upkeep during stay
Proof of Legitimate Lodging
Proof of Marriage (for married persons)
Proof of parentage (for minors)
Proof of Work/Student/Missionary Permit (where applicable)

A permitted entrant, who is not the holder of a Work Permit, Student Permit, Missionary Permit or is awaiting Permanent Residence status  may be granted an Extension of Stay to a maximum of six (6) months from the date of entry into Trinidad and Tobago, subject to the approval of the Chief Immigration Officer 

A permitted entrant, who is the holder of a Work Permit, Student Permit, Missionary Permit or is awaiting Permanent Residence status may be granted an Extension of Stay beyond six (6) months.

                CARICOM Nationals           -   $50.00 TT    
                Non CARICOM Nationals    -  $100.00 TT
